Herald of Ire

Like all who gather what was scattered, Afonrere works at the edge of memory and becoming. His creations breathe with Yoruba thought, pulse with lived philosophy, and carry the weight of a journey in motion. Each song, each reflection, each gesture is not to be consumed, but to be witnessed, collected, and allowed to arrive within you.

Who Is Afonrere?

(Ah-fun-reh-reh), aka Àkànjí Àgan, The Restorer

Afonrere is a rare voice in contemporary music and thought, a bridge between worlds. By training, Olufemi Oni navigates enterprise risk across EMEA, but through music and philosophy, he moves mountains.

Rooted in Yoruba griot tradition and expressed through a modern lens, his work blends Afro-Yoruba rhythms with European sensibilities, telling stories of faith, doubt, and rediscovery.

More than sound, his art is a journey, guiding listeners toward reflection, awakening, and a renewed sense of purpose. Each piece in an invitation to engage, reflect, and continue one’s own path.
